IU Health Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Navigator to join our Gynecologic Oncology service line! This part-time role involves working three 8-hour shifts per week, specifically in the office on Mondays and Fridays, while the third day can be flexible and performed remotely after training. Position Overview:
As the RN Navigator, you will play a vital role in coordinating the care for our patients, developing personalized care plans in collaboration with patients and their primary care providers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of tests and treatments
- Advocating for patients and balancing their care needs with financial considerations
- Educating patients about chemotherapy and providing pre/post-operative support
- Managing care delivery across the patient care continuum for Gyn Oncology new patients
Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care.
- Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
- Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology.
- Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies.
- Previous Oncology or outpatient nursing experience is preferred.
