We are currently seeking a Supplemental Lactation Consultant II to support our day and evening shifts. If you are passionate about providing exceptional care, we encourage you to apply!
Role Overview:
The Lactation Consultant II will provide comprehensive infant feeding services to families through both inpatient and outpatient settings. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, marketing, and implementing effective plans for the lactation program.
- Raising awareness about lactation services and creating educational materials for diverse audiences.
- Utilizing clinical expertise for assessment, diagnosis, and planning, while implementing and evaluating care for patients and families.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Adhering to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (I . B . L . C . E .) or be certified within one year of hire.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires background working with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.
