The primary responsibility of the Associate Director of International Engagement is to engage IU's global alumni, building community around international affiliation that supports university initiatives. This role sits on the International Engagement team at IUAA, dynamically supporting the full scope of the university's international work by activating alumni around the world.

$55,000 - $60,000 based upon experience

Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Represents the International Engagement department on the Indianapolis campus, serving there as the key contact or international alumni activity.
- Curates and facilitates engagement opportunities and experiences that foster connections among alumni and back to the university.
- Conducts personal meetings with alumni volunteers and donors.
- Identifies key partners and creates avenues for collaboration.
- Travels to specific clusters of university alumni, principally in key markets across Asia, to support university initiatives and alumni events.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes alumni volunteer projects, programs and events as a leader advisor for an assigned alumni group.
- Identifies, recruits, and develops alumni to serve in key volunteer and leadership roles.
- Collaborates with other university advancement officers to engage and cultivate alumni through various initiatives.
- Conducts research and analyzes data to recommend key market priorities consistent with alumni association and institutional goals.
- Develops best practice processes and systems for increasing alumni volunteer involvement and connection with the university.
- Manages budgets; writes and edits publications and other communications.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of experience with program development, volunteer engagement and cultivation, budget administration
- Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including those from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, into day-to-day work

- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to exercise initiative, work independently and effectively as a team member
- Highly developed intercultural competency
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and unstructured professional situations
- Proficiency in at least one language, in addition to English
- Experience planning and conducting professional travel and events, particularly internationally
