THIS POSITION IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AFSCME COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNITIndiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for a Clerical Assistant 2 in the College of Health Sciences. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized clerical assistant to support the Chair and faculty of the Department of Nursing and other programs as needed. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the department by handling a wide range of responsibilities, including managing departmental operations, assisting students with academic and clinical requirements, maintaining compliance with clinical agencies, and handling clerical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating with Castle Branch (a compliance management company), processing student records, monitoring budgets, scheduling courses, organizing departmental events, and serving as the primary point of contact for students and faculty. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and experience in administrative support. Review the PA Specifications for this Job Title. The above duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title). or Graduation from high school. orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
