The Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania is seeking a dynamic Part-Time Temporary Faculty Member to teach beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to share their knowledge with the next generation of computer science students. IUP offers a collaborative academic environment with a focus on excellence and innovation. Duties: Teach courses that may include Introduction to Cybersecurity, Computer Networks, Network Security, Digital Forensics, or any core course in the Computer Science/Cybersecurity program. Specialized courses related to applicants’ expertise may also be considered. The number of courses and the length of the appointment are flexible to accommodate the availability of the applicant. The successful candidate may provide instruction on-campus and/or teach using a variety of modalities suitable for distance education.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field. At least 4 years of industry experience in a position related to cybersecurity or computer science. Preferred: Industry experience as an information security specialist, systems analyst, digital forensics analyst, or industry experience in another cybersecurity related position. Previous college teaching experience preferred; two years prior teaching experience may be considered in lieu of some industry experience. The department seeks candidates whose teaching, research, or services has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
