THIS POSITION IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AFSCME COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNITIndiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for the position of Network Specialist 1 in the College of Arts, Humanities, Media and Public Affairs. The Network Specialist 1 at IUP serves as the Chief Engineer for all broadcast and network media for IUP -TV and WIUP-FM ensuring that all operations related to television and radio stations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Operations include broadcasts from the studios as well as remote broadcasts for athletic and other events. The position also assists as needed with aligned operations in the IUP Performing Arts Center.Review the PA Specifications for this Job Title.The above duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00am - 4:30pm
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING: One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; orSuccessful completion of the Information Technology Intern – Bachelor Program; orOne year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; orThree years of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members. The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
