Job Summary:
The Furniture Technician is responsible for assisting tenants of the City County Building and Marion County Jail by moving and maintaining furniture and signage within the buildings maintained by the Authority.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Move and assemble furniture in and around the City-County Building
- Repair furniture
- Receive furniture deliveries
- Work with vendors on furniture installations
- Create and maintain building signage
- Maintain inventory of chairs, tables, equipment and signage material and the tools used for each
- Work with the surplus team to remove items from the building
- Assist other BA departments on office remodels as needed
- Inspection and set up of meeting rooms
- Maintain the automated external defibrillators
- Assist other Building Authority Properties as requested
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Project Manager
Equipment used:
The furniture technician is expected to be familiar with equipment and tools including hand and power tools, furniture dolly and sign engraver.
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds
- Ability to stand, go up and down stairs for the entire workday
- Must be able to work and install furniture in a neat, clean and orderly manner
- Must be able to read basic floorplans
- Experience using Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience using AMMS or CMMS software preferred
