What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at Indianapolis Perioperative Medicine?
Looking for a full time Nurse Practitioner with a real interest in working as a Perioperative Internal Medicine Specialist/Hospitalist.
You would be working independently and collaborating with one physician. Must be responsible with attention to detail and confident with working independently. Must type well and be comfortable with computers and EHRs. Monday-Friday. No weekends. No holidays. No overnight call.
Duties would include optimizing medical conditions in a preoperative clinic as well as managing the same patients postoperatively in an inpatient hospital setting. You would eventually become proficient is such jobs as reading EKGs, managing anticoagulation, insulin, acute renal failure, ileus, delirium, hyponatremia, hypotension, CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, etc.
This is NOT a surgical position – previous experience with surgery is not necessary and would not be utilized. This is an INTERNAL MEDICINE/HOSPITALIST side of taking care of the medical problems of patients around the time of surgery.
