What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Grade Teacher position at Indianapolis Public Schools?
Develop & produce daily lesson plans aligned to established school standards and expected learning outcomes in approved system
Actively work with other faculty to improve instruction in assigned subjects and coordination across subjects
Grade all assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects in a timely manner, using the grading scale provided by the school
Promptly attend grade level, department and staff meetings, as scheduled
Engage in on-site, off-site and/or online professional development opportunities as recommended or provided
Develop and produce curriculum map for each course/subject taught aligned to established school standards in approved system
Use a variety of teaching methodologies to create an engaging and safe classroom setting students are held to high expectations
Establish and maintain proper classroom expectations for student behavior, learning expectations, and outcomes.
Incorporate technology in meaningful ways into instruction and learning
Review student assessments and establish needed differentiated learning opportunities for students to excel
