SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY :

We are seeking an administrative specialist who will support Human Resources functions to meet the staffing and employment needs of our district. You will have the opportunity to impact student success by providing excellent customer service and support to our employees, supervisors, and stakeholders. Under supervision of the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will perform a variety of administrative tasks to assure the efficient operation of the Human Resources Division. WHAT YOU'LL DO :

The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to HRBP in all aspects to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist HRBP with hiring and onboarding process.
  • Process employee separations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Act as an initial HR point of contact, greeting customers, answering phone calls and emails. Independently resolve employee concerns whenever feasible.
  • Complete verification of employments for current and former employees.
  • Maintain and organize documents related to employee personnel files. . Assist with routine audits and provide reports as needed.
  • Compile, create and maintain various documentation adhering to established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Day In the Life" Overview

On a regular day, as the Administrative Specialist - Employment & Operations, you might :

  • Check and monitor status of criminal histories, DCS reports, and new hire paperwork. Follow up with new hires to avoid delays in the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Schedule post offer appointments for physicals, psychological evaluations, clerical tests, ParaPro exams, and new hire HR badge visits.
  • Process employee separations in the HRIS system (MUNIS). Maintain the tracking of separations and follow up with confirmation to employee and supervisor.
  • Greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner. Respond to and written inquiries. Trouble shoot HR and payroll concerns.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions..
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all circumstances.
  • EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in Human Resource, Business Administration or related field, or 3-5 years of HR experience required.
  • Or, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    FLSA CLASSIFICATION :

    Non-Exempt.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR REMOTE WORK :

    Eligible per supervisor's discretion.
