What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Indianapolis Public Schools?
Jill's House Intergenerational Preschool is a play-based, project-based program that serves children ages 6 weeks - 5 years old. We are seeking passionate childcare workers to assist the lead teacher and help care for young children. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people who enjoy working with young children. The opportunity for extra hours is always available! We would like a person with at least one year of experience working with children in a childcare setting. You must at least have a high school diploma, preference for candidates with education in early childhood/child development.

- Assisting the lead teacher with executing lesson plans and daily care
- Completing daily cleaning of the classroom throughout the school day
- Enforcing positive discipline and redirection techniques with children
- Singing, reading to, and comforting children
- Lifting, carrying children up to 50lbs
- Assisting with nap time, helping children fall asleep
- Actively supervising children's outdoor and risky play
- Assisting with morning and afternoon snack
- Assisting with diapering/toileting
- Maintaining positive parent communication
- Participating in/Completing online and in-person training in current research and practices for Early Childhood Education
- Personal protective equipment provided or required
- Temperature screenings
- Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place work
