SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for an Associate Teacher who will positively impact student success by aligning District objectives with employees and management for a designated set of business locations. Associate Teachers are responsible for providing continued building substitute teaching coverage for daily teacher absences and vacancies at one designated school site. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes and other duties (i.e., breakfast, lunch, and/or bus duty).
- Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe, orderly and positive learning environment for all students and staff.
- Lectures, demonstrates and uses technology teaching aids to present subject matter to students. Administers student assessments as directed by lesson plan.
- Maintains appropriate records including checking test papers, recording grades, student homework assignments, projects and all necessary clerical work required to maintain student records as required by the school.
- Maintains and respects the confidentiality of students and school.
- Ensures adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Counsels students when minor behavior and academic problems arise.
- Leaves summary of day’s activities, student attendance and behavior for the returning teacher to review.
- Other duties as assigned

On a regular day, as an Associate Teacher, you might:
- Deliver continuity of student instruction.
- Cover breakfast, lunch and bus duty.
- Collaborate with school staff regarding the instructional needs of student(s).

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours from an accredited school
- Must be able to attain an Indiana Substitute Teacher permit
- Experience working with students in a K-12 environment (preferred).
