What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) position at Indianapolis Public Schools?
MSD of Decatur Township is currently seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our Special Education team. The COTA will work under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) or supervisor onsite. Their main responsibilities will involve developing and executing interventions geared toward overcoming educational barriers for students with physical, emotional, and/or intellectual disabilities. The caseload will be determined accordingly.

- Assess students' abilities and develop individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to implement interventions
- Track progress, document sessions, and adjust strategies as needed
- Deliver therapy sessions as outlined by the OT
- Support students in improving motor and functional skills
- Maintain records and provide updates on student progress
- Previous experience in a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) setting
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in a school environment
- Must hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Indiana COTA certification license is required
