Job Requirements: Qualified Candidates will:
- Provide instruction and highly engaging learning opportunities while implementing elementary curriculum maps
- Organize and present daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices as outlined in school improvement plans and professional development initiatives
- Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that provide developmentally age-appropriate experiences and promote student engagement
- Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Regularly uses data to guide educational decisions and instruction
- Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports
- Implements strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance
- Identifies students' needs, makes appropriate referrals and implements appropriate accommodations/interventions as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Learning Plans (ILP), 504 Plans, or Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Plans
- Creates an organized environment conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, interest/learning centers, or exhibits of student work
- Utilizes technology as an instructional, communication, and management tool
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve and promote an effective learning atmosphere
- Communicates and meets with parents as needed
- Responds to parents' inquiries in a timely manner
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district
- Coordinates the work of instructional assistants, parents, volunteers in the classroom, school events, and field trips
- Knowledge of corporation and school policies
- Handles clerical functions/reports related to job responsibilities in a timely manner
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
- Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
- Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
- Current Indiana Teaching License or able to obtain
- Individual must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
