SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:
The Foodservice Programs Specialist is responsible for the ongoing technical components of the Foodservice Department, including: Child Nutrition Program Software, Community Eligibility Provision, National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Summer Food Service Program.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Core Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manages foodservice department data to ensure all federal and state regulations are implemented and followed.
2. Supports contractual and compliance monitoring of USDA Child Nutrition Programs including applications, audits, training, and reviews.
3. Develops and delivers technical assistance and training on child nutrition programs.
4. Maintains records of professional development as required by USDA regulations.
5. Assists with data analyses, and the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and compliance of programs.
6. Conducts Direct Certification benefits process multiple times during the school year.
7. Works with IT department to identify new year programing changes to modify data files exchanged with SIS and eligibility software programs.
8. Provides telephone assistance to parents, IPS staff and other administrators.
9. Develops and maintains procedures and training materials. Ensures all new/revised USDA policies are maintained on file and implemented by IPS.
10. Maintains computer software files, yearly upgrades, and year end data roll over files. Determines and analyzes data problems with program software and data files.
11. Provides general technical assistance to foodservice department staff on the use of software and computer systems.
12. Controls the release of confidential eligibility data within IPS and to outside agencies requesting this information. Documents the nature of all requests and the information provided.
13. Records and stores all documents following all state and federal guidelines.
14. Prepares a variety of monthly and annual internal, state, and federal reports. Maintains historical data reports and files.
15. Serves as liaison between the Foodservice Department and other departments with IPS that have a need for eligibility information, such as the Office of Student Enrollment and IT.
16. Maintains an inventory of forms, supplies, and materials and requisitions for replenishment of same.
17. All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of five years with system accountability experience in child nutrition programs.
