SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:
The Human Resources (HR) Communications Coordinator plays a vital role by ensuring key communications and projects run smoothly on time and efficiently. Reporting to the HR Director of Employment and Operations, the HR Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing internal and external communication efforts related to the HR Department. This includes developing, coordinating, and executing effective communication strategies to support HR initiatives, programs, and policies. The role ensures that employees are well-informed and engaged while also helping to shape and communicate the organization’s culture, values, and vision.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute HR Communication Strategies. Create and implement communication plans that align with IPS’s HR goals, including recruitment, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.- Craft and Distribute HR Announcements. Write and send key updates to IPS employees regarding benefits, payroll, professional development, compliance updates, and policy changes.
- Manage Internal Communication Platforms. Maintain and update HR-related content on the IPS intranet, employee portals, email newsletters, and digital signage in district offices.
- Support Employee Engagement and Recognition. Promote employee appreciation programs, staff spotlights, and district-wide recognition efforts through engaging communication campaigns.
- Ensure Consistency in District Messaging. Align HR messages with IPS branding, ensuring clarity, inclusivity, and accessibility for all employees across the district.
- Gather and Analyze Employee Feedback. Conduct surveys and monitor employee sentiment to improve communication strategies and workplace satisfaction.
- Enhance Change Management Efforts. Develop clear messaging for HR-related changes, such as new hiring policies, benefits programs, or district-wide initiatives affecting employees.
- Collaborate with Schools and Departments. Work closely with school principals, department heads, and IPS central office teams to ensure HR messages reach all employees effectively.
- Measure and Improve Communication Impact. Track engagement metrics such as email open rates, intranet usage, and employee survey results to refine HR communication strategies.

On a regular day, as the HR Communications Coordinator, you might:
- Meet with Communications Department leadership for updates on external communications that may impact employees
- Share out updated HR materials on the HR website and other communication channels.
- Manage incoming emails and requests through HR mailboxes and portals.
- Prepare HR content for district newsletters, collaborating with the IPS professional learning team to meet submission deadlines.
- Partner with HR team leaders to develop content for principal and staff updates.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
