Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Some college credit is preferred.
• Experience working in a classroom setting is preferred.
  
  

Responsibilities & Duties

• The Instructional Assistant will work with students in the middle (grades 2-5) school setting.
• The Instructional Assistant will work at the direction of the principal and classroom teacher, assisting students with various tasks to be carried out as part of the instructional plan.
• Collaborate with special education teacher to implement student individualized education plans
• Use assigned instructional learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment
• Maintain confidentiality
• Report to supervising teachers and follow assigned plans
• Adjust to flexible schedules and tasks as needed.
• Assist special education students with assignments/projects, individually or in groups
• Train in specialized interventions for students, as needed
• Maintain accurate performance records of students and communicate progress to supervising special education teacher
• Support students in the general education environment, as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others
• Support the Mission Statement of the district and school
• Have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Physically assist students as needed
• Attend staff and team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance
