Job Description

We seek a passionate and dedicated Jr./Sr. High School Agriculture Teacher to join our team at Hamilton Jr./Sr. High School in Hamilton, Indiana. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for agriculture and hands-on learning, a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment, and the ability to inspire students to develop practical skills and a strong understanding of agricultural science.

Responsibilities

• -Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with Indiana state standards and curriculum guidelines.
• -Foster a dynamic, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and student collaboration.
• -Utilize various teaching methods, instructional techniques, and technology tools to enhance student learning and comprehension.
• -Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support growth and development.
• -Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and performance records, and communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and administrators regarding student progress and concerns.
• -Create a supportive and respectful classroom culture that celebrates diversity, promotes empathy, and values the contributions of all students.
• -Stay informed about current trends and best practices in Agriculture education, participate in professional development opportunities, and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies and curriculum design.
• -Maintain the school's Ag Facebook page.
• -Administer the school's local FFA chapter
• -Participate in school-wide events, committees, and initiatives, contributing to the school community's overall success and positive culture.
  
  

Qualifications

• -A bachelor's degree or graduate degree in agriculture or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
• -Valid Indiana teaching license or eligibility for licensure in agriculture or a related field (grades 9-12).
• -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• -Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate with others in a team-oriented environment.
