What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non Public Title I Teacher position at Indianapolis Public Schools?
SUMMARY
Works with underachieving targeted Title I students to facilitate learning and improve skills in the classroom to assist the Title I teaching staff in private elementary or secondary settings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college credit or successful completion of ParaPro Assessment test required. Prior work experience of three to six months with young people in a school or childcare setting.
Incumbent will have organizational skills to be able to compile and maintain Title I documentation and have basic computer skills. Must have access to dependable transportation. Must be able to work without constant direct supervision.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides instructional interventions under the direction of a licensed teacher that reinforces reading, language arts and / or mathematics instruction of the classroom teacher.
Helps prepare students for formal and informal assessments.
Creates and maintains working relationships between parents, students and school staff including conducting academic workshop for parents.
Assists with plans to improve involvement of parents including maintaining records of parent meetings.
Maintains records of Title I students served and their progress. Assists in the collection and compilation of student, parent, teacher and community data.
