Job Summary :

Repairs, maintains, updates, and remodels all plumbing systems, pools, natural gas, domestic water, drainage, sanitary sewer and fire protection, on a 24-hour basis as needed.

Bring current facilities up-to-date with installations such as handicapped facilities and new plumbing fixtures. Makes emergency repairs in order to keep all systems functional and to provide a sanitary and safe environment for the children and faculty in the schools system

Qualifications :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and Plumbing licenses plus 5 years of on the job Plumbing experience. An individual needs to have extensive plumbing experience to deal with the many diverse IPS systems.

State Plumbing License. Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Diverse knowledge is required in order to work on and maintain the different types of systems including different types of piping materials, i.e., cooper, galvanized pipe, black pipe, cast iron pipe, plastic pipe. In addition, knowledge is required of the many ways the piping is joined or mechanically put together, i.e., solder, braised, welded, threaded, flanged, caulked lead joint, glued, no-hub, slip seal, flared, compression or fused.

Major Responsibilities :

Complete job repair tickets daily.

Troubleshoot to determine if item should be repaired or replaced.

Move existing piping to make way for these new projects as needed.

Complete inspection requirements, i.e., Fire Marshall, back flow prevention, certifications.

Replace water lines, waste lines and update bathroom facilities when school is not in session.
