Essential Functions
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans. Teaches lessons with enthusiasm and positive encouragement.
- Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including field trips, playground and graduation activities.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Distributes report cards mid year and end of year.
- Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers.
- Maintains program site and equipment and cleanliness of site.
- Maintains required program records including their individual class payments, documenting important information and filling out accident/incident reports.
- Encouraged to attend and participate in preschool family nights, program activities and promotions, staff meetings, and staff training.

- At least 21 years of age
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date or first available date offered by YMCA.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities with students.
