The Indianapolis Zoo is looking for an enthusiastic Membership & Engagement Manager to support our membership and mid-level giving programs. This is a key position within our Membership and Engagement team, where you will contribute to growing our membership base and enhancing mid-level giving relationships.
Position Overview: The Membership & Engagement Manager will work closely with the Director of Membership and Engagement to manage the membership and Conservation Club programs. You will oversee membership, mid-level giving memberships, and email database management, with a focus on data entry, reporting, and analysis. You will also have the opportunity to lead a team, providing coaching and mentoring to Membership Coordinators and seasonal staff.
This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for data management, mid-level giving relations, and contributing to a greater cause.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to increase membership and charitable giving in alignment with the Zoo's mission.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Membership and Conservation Club programs.
- Supervise and mentor Membership Coordinators to ensure departmental goals are met and operational tasks are executed accurately.
- Assist in managing email marketing campaigns, database management, and fundraising software.
- Coordinate member and mid-level giving communications, including renewals, acknowledgements, and thank-you calls.
- Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and retention strategies.
- Organize members-only events such as Breakfast with Santa and Teddy Bear Clinic.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure compliance with fiscal procedures for membership-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a membership or mid-level-based program.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with fundraising software (Raiser's Edge, Delivra) preferred.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Working Conditions: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work required during peak seasons and special events.
