Teacher Associate
Under the general supervision of the building principal and designated teacher(s), to assist and support all staff in the education of children.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist in the supervision of students in the classroom and other areas of the school facility. This may include bus arrival/dismissal, lunch and/or recess, school related activities or field trips during contracts hours, and emergency drills/situations.
- Assists staff in preparation of materials. This may include reproducing and preparing materials and equipment used in the classroom; correcting papers, workbooks and tests; and creating and preparing materials for bulleting boards.
- Works with individual or a group of students in the daily routine of the classroom uder the teacher's direction. This may include assisting the teacher with classroom management and/or implemention of behavioral management plan(s); assisting students with homewrok, tests and/or seatwork; assisting students wiht technology (audio-visual, computer, adaptive educational equipment); and maintaining records for individual students.
- Keeps teacher/administrator informed of all relevant student-related matters.
- Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology.
- Attends scheduled training sessions.
- Duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor may vary from time to time.

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical Requirements
Bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking.
Working Conditions
Includes extremes of temperature and humidity. Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
Any employee not covered by a negotiated contract agreement is an “at-will” employee. Either the school district or the employee can terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause, so long as there is no violation of applicable federal or state law. The school district can define the number of days notice required of a terminating employee.
