Job Description: Civil Project Engineer (3 years of Civil Land Development Experience and B.S. Required)
Full-time opportunity available for an experienced Civil Project Engineer at a dynamic and growing civil engineering firm. The ability to be a dependable and motivating team member, and to have fun in a fast-paced work environment is required! Candidate must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with strong technical ability in civil site planning, land development, water/wastewater design, drainage design, and/or septic system design is required. Site development includes/but not limited to road design, grading, stormwater design, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related areas of site development. This position will require work with other engineers, project managers, architects, soil scientists, surveyors, contractors, other technical staff, as well as, federal, state and/or local officials in the production of plans, specifications, applications, and reports for a myriad of residential and/ or commercial projects. The ability to conduct outdoor activities such as site visits and soil testing is mandatory. The ability to attend and present projects for approval at evening meetings is desired. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and develop civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Design and construction oversight of water/wastewater infrastructure, civil site, and related projects.
Utilize CAD software, including Civil 3D, to design detailed schematics and project site plans. Update designs based on manager, client, and reviewer’s feedback.
Conduct soil testing and groundwater monitoring to establish soil parameters and project feasibility.
Investigate and analyze data, maps, drawings, and other technical information.
Perform calculations and assessments related to project specifications and requirements.
Prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate project progress and findings.
Prepare reports and presentations related to project status and results.
Prepare and submit all applications to corresponding federal, state and/or local agencies ensuring compliance related to project specifications and approval requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate system design and engineering solutions.
Liaise with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.
Leverage project management skills to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering with at least 3 years of hands-on civil site/ land development planning and design experience.
Proficiency of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications.
Previous experience working with public and private development projects and well versed in attaining approvals with municipalities, state, and federal entities.
Possess ability to analyze project needs and requirements to create appropriate site plan and design.
Demonstrate ability to use logic and reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Must be able to interact and effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with teammates, clients, contractors, federal, state and local officials, and project stakeholders.
Ability to travel locally as needed for client consultations, soil testing, on-site inspections, etc.
High level of interpersonal skills, integrity, and motivation. Ability to be a self-starter.
Possess professional attitude and appearance.
Ability to be detail oriented, manage time efficiently, and be deadline driven is a must.
Be a team player and work well within a team environment.
Ability to carry and manipulate equipment over 50lbs. related to soil testing and site investigation. Ability to conduct all types of soil testing.
License/Certification:
This person will support the design, detailing, and administration of civil engineering projects while furthering technical and professional skills needed to obtain a Professional Engineering license.
