Roving Compliance Specialist – Affordable HousingFull-time : 40 hours per weekCompany OverviewAt Indigo Real Estate, we attribute much of our properties’ successes to the strengths of our team members, and we are seeking an experienced Roving Compliance Specialist who is passionate about customer service, affordable housing, proficient in tax credit paperwork, and is driven to succeed.Objectives of this Role / Job DescriptionAssisting sites with completing recertificationsAssisting sites with initial file reviews for recertificationsAssisting sites with move-ins if neededAssisting sites with resident relationsAssisting with office coverage if needed, when managers are out sick or on vacationAssisting sites with lease audits and data entry.You would be working closely with Regional VP and Regional Operations Coordinator to support the properties.This role is responsible for reviewing and processing resident and applicant Tax Credit certification paperwork, processing monthly compliance reports, updating property information into Yardi software including units, utility allowances, income, and rent limits, spot checking property files and leasing activities for compliance to Fair Housing laws and regulations.This position requires a working knowledge of Tax Credit or affordable housing programs in addition to excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of LIHTC program is a requirement. Knowledge of YARDI Voyager software or similar systems is a plus. The successful candidate will possess the ability to multitask, make smart and timely decisions with limited guidance, and be highly self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and collaborative work style.Desirable QualificationsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Extremely organized and structured.Able to work well under pressure, is self-motivated, self-directed, and is able to work with / without direct supervision.Required ExperiencePresently or recently employed with a property management company.Minimum of 2 years of property management experience or administrative / accounting assistance.Minimum of 2 or more years of experience working in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
