Production Operator II - Elk Grove, IL

JOB SUMMARY: The Production Operator II is responsible for performing manual duties to process and complete product by operating equipment to mix, form and/or assemble metals and/or chemicals for distribution to Indium customers. Work is performed with little direction and with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Observe all safety and security requirements

• Operate machines and/or other equipment for product processing, which may include assembly, chemical additions, extrusion, and packaging functions

• May work with a variety of metals to create casts

• Follow written procedures and work instructions

• Complete any and all required documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain the accuracy of completed parts and required inventory

• Perform a variety of supply functions to stage, load and remove materials no longer needed at the production station or to set up for future production

• Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them

• Sustain a steady work pace and follow a schedule; recognize and alert more senior Operators/Supervisor to the need for schedule adjustments

• Identify and perform rework

• May guide other employees

• Produce quality product with minimal scrap

• Read and interpret drawings and diagrams with assistance from supervisor and instruct others of same

• Attend training as needed or assigned

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• 2 years related work experience at Indium; or

• 1 year related work experience at Indium and either 4 years related outside work experience or deemed competent in at least 2 qualifying operations; or

• 5 years related outside work experience

• Specialized knowledge and the demonstrated ability to train others may be considered in lieu of length of work experience

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Basic math skills

• Basic computer literacy

• Basic organizational skills

SHIFT/SITE:

Monday-Thursday/ 5:00am-3:30pm/ 80 Scott Street, Elk Grove Village, IL

WAGE DISCLOSURE:

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

$17.50 per hour - $22.00 per hour

($36,500 - $45,500 annually)
