Job Description
- Research and documentation of IFRS accounting treatment and review current and new accounting pronouncements and developments
- Prepare and/or review memorandums on complex accounting and reporting topics
- Provide supporting schedules, journal entries and documentation as required for assignments
- Support projects and find solutions to complex reporting topics
- Collaborate with the business development, legal and valuation teams on acquisitions and document projects and assumptions made used to determine value and accounting treatment.
- Support the drafting of MD&A and financial statement footnotes
- Development of new and revised accounting policies in accordance with IFRS as the business grows and evolves.
- Serve as a subject matter expert with external auditors on complex accounting treatment
- Participate in cross functional projects related to financial reporting and disclosure matters
- Drive continuous improvement in the complex accounting process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and technical accounting experience preferred)
- CPA required
- Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP (knowledge of IFRS preferred)
- Assist in preparation of a monthly and quarterly reporting package for public company (K/Qs)
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex challenges
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand, summarize and communicate complex accounting topics
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive within a post-start up, fast-paced, global public company environment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change; able to act as a change agent
