General Purpose: Operations Manager will plan, organize, direct, manage, evaluate and are responsible for the operations and budget of warehouse facilities, including the identification of opportunities for warehousing operation improvements.
Salary: $115k-$140k yearly depending on experience
Distinguishing Characteristics: Direct and oversees intensive warehouse/distribution operational policies, objectives, and initiatives. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks that revolve around the entire operation. Leads and directs the work of others, which includes a management team.

- Resource allocation
- Timeline management
- Problem resolution
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse/distribution functions.
- Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.
- Plan, organize, and manage the work of subordinates and management staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipment complaints.
- Serves as contact persons for all workers within assigned territories.
- Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and D.O.T regulations.
- Comply with all OSHA, and Fleet regulations.
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
- Develops and maintains operational plans to include all operational requirements which include labor hours, production costs, and meeting financial objectives.
- Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse management systems.
- Track productivity data and monitors department reports, records, documentation and determines necessary changes for overall operation improvements.
- Direct and coordinate, through subordinates and management, activities of Warehouse/Transportation operations department in order to obtain use of equipment, facility.
- Conduct investigations in cooperation with regulations to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.
- Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as quality improvement and business needs requirements.
- Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes. As well as discharge, transfer, or promote workers.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility that is “tour ready” at all times.
- Participate in union contract negotiations and settlements of grievances.
