POSITION SUMMARY: Maintenance Mechanic will provide support to all aspects of the manufacturing and facilities maintenance efforts at the Raleigh, NC plant. Provide a safe and quality environment for the department employees at this site. This position will provide support to all departments; will interact with vendors, contractors and other personnel in a professional manner. Always be quality and safety orientated about actions that involve repair/maintenance or modifications to any systems or equipment. Be a team player with all departments.
Essential Functions
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Adequate vision required, must be able to successfully pass visual acuity requirements (20/20 corrected
vision, distinguish colors as required). Position requires continuous standing and walking. Frequent bending over and lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. Any person shown at any time (either by medical examination or supervisory observation) to have an apparent illness or open lesions that may adversely affect the safety or quality of drug products shall be excluded from direct contact with components, drug product containers, closures, in-process materials, and drug products until the condition is corrected or determined by competent medical personnel not to jeopardize the safety or quality of drug products. All personnel shall be instructed to report to supervisory personnel any health conditions that may have an adverse effect on drug products.
Personnel engaged in the manufacture, processing, packing, or holding of a drug product shall wear
clean clothing appropriate for the duties they perform. Protective apparel, such as head, face, hand,
and arm coverings, shall be worn as necessary to protect drug products from contamination.

Essential Functions
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operate, maintain, and repair plant utility systems, including but not limited to: boilers, compressed air, pumping systems, chillers, HVAC units, hot water system, clean steam generators, PW pretreatment system, WFI stills, waste water systems, vacuum system, emergency power system
- Independently maintain and repair production equipment as needed, including but not limited to: aseptic filling equipment, vial washers, depyrogenation tunnels, cappers, tray loading, storage tanks, autoclave sterilizers, and component parts washers
- Perform general facility repairs (Lighting, Doors, Card reader, Security, Fire system)
- Write preventive maintenance job plans and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems
- Provide instruction to others and lead small work teams to complete tasks as required
- Work with Manager to use and administer Computerized Maintenance Management Software
- Interact with contractors, vendors and OEM techs as needed to complete PMs and repairs
- Source and order parts when needed to help maintain spare parts inventory and effect repairs
- Maintain Maintenance and Utility area cleanliness
- Execute small projects independently, when requested
- Available for 24 hr. call in when requested and meet attendance requirements for the job
- Understand and assist in implementing safety procedures and cGMP’s
- Understand and execute demonstrated aseptic behaviors and techniques
- Assist other departments and perform other duties as specified by the Maintenance Manager

Minimum Qualifications
- Technical vocational certificates in a maintenance related fields, such as welding, HVAC, electronics, refrigeration, or equivalent education or hands on industry experience
- 1 years maintenance experience in facilities, utilities, HVAC, industrial equipment or controls
- 1 years of cGMP maintenance experience with broad knowledge of facilities, clean utilities, HVAC, industrial equipment and controls in a pharmaceutical operation
- Pre-filled syringe operation experience preferred
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the employee will demonstrate:
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and PLC logic
- Ability to lift 75lbs, have excellent balance and pass aseptic gowning qualification
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical or controls systems aptitude and knowledge
- Ability to apply analytical reasoning and root cause analysis to solve problems
- Strong math and science skills and the ability to use a computer
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, interpret and apply technical writing and instruction
- Accurate attention to detail, and a strong understanding of pharmaceutical production
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with knowledge of cGMPs, and the ability to
- Ability to follow good documentation practices
