What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Indorama Ventures AlphaPet, Inc.?
Qualification/Education: High School diploma or GED. Ability to pass an employment physical & Drug Test.
Shift: This position is rotating shift work, rotating every 2 weeks from nights to days, 7:00 to 7:00.
Experience: One (1) year of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Forklift certified and material handling experience with rail/truck loading and unloading desired. CDL a plus, but not requirement.
Job Responsibilities:
a. Adhere to all safety guidelines, rules, and regulations set forth by the company.
b. Must follow Plant and Personal Safety Programs and Safe Work Practices. Individual will not take unnecessary risks to complete job assignments. Ensure safe work and operation of equipment is being performed properly.
c. Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Quality and Food safety guidelines and OSB/SOPs set forth by the company.
d. Be the example of safety, quality and positive attitude. Conducting self professionally with coworkers and management.
e. Interface with plant engineers and management on shutdowns and special projects.
f. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures that may be given by management.
g. Responsible for unloading all Raw Material from rail and truck (PTA, IPA, MEG & DEG) and keeping up with the levels of each Raw Material.
h. Operate railcar moving equipment (Track Mobile/Shuttle Wagon), following all safety practices & procedures.
i. Must be forklift, Lull and Manlift certified, must be able to maintain this certification and operate equipment as to the SOP’s and safety procedures for the equipment.
j. Operate the pelletron system to unload PTA/IPA rail cars & trucks.
k. Knowledgeable of the entire Material Handling area and willing to work as a team in a team environment.
l. Able to lift 50lbs and push 100lbs. Also responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
m. Understand Oracle & the LIMS system for entering samples.
n. Responsible for maintaining accurate and neat records of jobs performed and ensure they are completed following the SOP’s set forth by the company.
o. Pressure testing the Pelletron Conveying systems and able to work at various heights.
p. Changing and cleaning the filters on PTA/IPA/MEG/DEG systems
q. Responsible for transfer material from storage silos to bag silos, truck loading silos or rail loading silos.
r. Responsible for preparing railcars for loading, inspection, cleanliness, and proper gaskets.
s. Responsible for setting the load times for trucks and railcars.
t. Responsible for ensuring that empty cars are staged and cleaned ready for loading on tracks 2 & 3.
u. Responsible for entering rail load information into data base.
v. Ability to become certified as a scale master with the State of Alabama and site will assist in training in order to obtain certification.
w. Other duties identified and assigned by Management.
Summary
