Summary

We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our team at Indorama Ventures AlphaPet, Inc. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within our organization. Located in a dynamic manufacturing environment, you will play an essential role in safeguarding our employees and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety training programs for employees.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the development of policies related to occupational health and safety.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety across all departments.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
• Maintain records related to workers compensation claims and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Provide first aid support as needed and coordinate emergency response plans.
• Oversee and track all safety permitting for the site which includes: general work permits, hot work permits, confined space permits, overhead lift permits and plans, excavation permits and plans, radiation/X-Ray testing protocols and any other site required permitting for safety operations and compliance.
• Facilitate and lead the Safety Committee.
• Maintain record keeping and tracking systems for all safety concerns reported and maintain OSHA 300 Log, Intelex Data Base, etc.
• Order, track and distribute PPE Equipment for the site as well as manage uniform ordering and returns.
• Other safety related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS practices.
• Excellent report writing skills for documentation of incidents and audits.
• Excellent Microsoft office skills (i.e. excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
• Familiarity with workers compensation law and processes is beneficial.
• Ability to conduct effective training sessions for diverse groups.
• Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis of incidents.
• First aid certification is a plus.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $73,823.00 per year
