Indorama Ventures is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Process Safety Intern located in Lake Charles, LA.
Our intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internships run from January to April - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Indorama Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.

What will be expected from you?
With much supervision and no decision making:
- Review past and current Process Safety Events to analyze trends and identify common root causes.
- Provide status updates to mentor on project assignments.
- Attend project team meetings and report project status updates.
- Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by mentor.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
- Work with several databases that require data entry.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines. Make sure that annual required training is completed on-time.
- Present a report on the status of investigations and other work that was completed during the internship.
- Must be a full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level, currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 3.0 GPA or higher required.
- Must be authorized to work in U.S.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to solve complex problems and identify the appropriate resources.
- Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
- Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
