What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician (ITS/Tolling) position at Indra USA Inc?
Indra is seeking a motivated Field Technician to install, maintain, and repair Tolling, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems), network communications, Connected Vehicle systems, and other related assets. This role requires travel across the country and the ability to work shifts (day or night).
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee the installation of Electronic Toll Collection Systems (ETCS), ITS, and Network Communication System (NCS) devices by subcontractors.
- Configure field devices, controllers, software, and related components for ETCS/ITS.
- Troubleshoot and replace failed devices/equipment, ensuring proper field replacement and repairs with spare parts.
- Perform Corrective Maintenance as required to ensure functionality.
- Carry out Preventive Maintenance to maintain device performance and lifespan.
- Assist in developing documentation for installation and maintenance activities.
- Drive non-CDL commercial vehicles (up to 23,000 lbs) and operate a Bucket Truck as needed.
- Coordinate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) setup for job sites.
- Create necessary reports as required by management.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in fieldwork related to Tolling, ITS, or network communications systems.
- Knowledge of electronics, network systems, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience using diagnostic tools for troubleshooting devices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (day/night) and travel as needed across the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or technical training in electronics or IT-related fields.
- Experience operating a Bucket Truck or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with Tolling, ITS, or Connected Vehicle systems.
- Experience with MOT setup and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
