Technical Service Laboratory Chemist
Indulor America is a leader in the water-based printing ink and coatings markets in North America. Located in Graham, NC, Indulor offers a highly engaging work environment. Currently we are recruiting for a Technical Services Department Laboratory Chemist
Position Summary
The Technical Services Laboratory Chemist will assist and participate in laboratory work processes for our polymer production facility. This position will require “hands on” physical and application testing to support ongoing technical and customer service projects while adhering to all lab and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new and existing specialty chemicals and polymers for suitability in development projects
- Coordinate comparative testing and evaluations of competitive products in the graphic arts market
- Perform appropriate performance test to determine product suitability for proposed application
- Compile data from projects and interpret results to determine the outcome/conclusions.
- Report project work internally and externally according to the requirements for each project. This includes but is not limited to laboratory reports, verbal reports, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Conduct competitive product evaluations and benchmarking of relevant products
- Prepare laboratory samples for customer evaluations.
- Maintain laboratory inventory perform scheduled laboratory maintenance
- Obtain a prominent level of knowledge of product offerings to assist in fielding technical inquiries from customers.
- Support coatings technical product commercialization, assisting in the creation of marketing materials
- Identify root causes of problems and suggest corrective actions.

Experience, Skills & Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field
- Prior experience and familiarity with formulating for the graphic arts industry [preferred].
- Experience with common laboratory testing such as viscometers, pH meters, handheld proofers, colorimeters, and tests methods commonly used in quantifying the market formulations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of ink and coating formulations with a structured methodology for building, optimizing and testing formulations is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of polymers

- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills and ability to present results clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
