The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (NUWCDIVKPT) Detachment Pacific (Code 04/TDC) functions as NUWC’s forward presence in the Middle Pacific, Guam, and Western Pacific (WESTPAC) providing Detachment/Site Management in accordance with the Commanding Officer's (CO) letter of delegated authority to provide for program management, planning, policy, and execution of assigned programs and facility operations at the Detachment; monitor Safety and Occupational Health (SOH), physical and information security, personnel administration, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and professional development and morale, environmental compliance, appropriate interaction with all levels of Government and public affairs functions, site and area coordination for emergency preparedness, facilities management and space utilization, site material readiness, proper use of Government equipment and proper expenditure of funds, and adherence to good management practices and controls; manage the Detachment/On-Site Office (OSO); perform Navy programs duties under authority; manage military personnel allowance in accordance with Navy regulations, including Article 15 authority (non-judicial punishment); and serve as the Command's representative to the local installation CO or facility host in negotiating for utilities, security services, and facility maintenance. Divisions supported within this task are Hawaii Fleet Test and Operational Assessment Division (Code 24), Pearl Harbor Torpedo Division (Code 34), and Fleet Technical Support Division (Code 45).

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Computer Operator IV will support the detachment providing specialized technical support for computers, servers, and networks, to include technical support to end-user notifications of systems outages or problems on computer systems, VOIP phones, networks, wide area connectivity, software applications, peripherals, and scanners on the Hawaii Detachments Support Services contract. This position is located in Honolulu, HI.

 

  • Deliver Tier I-II support for network operations and end users, diagnosing and resolving technical issues across diverse IT systems.
  • Provide comprehensive administration of Windows environments, ensuring security, stability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement baseline images for Windows to standardize and streamline deployments.
  • Execute system-wide software and hardware upgrades, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Perform regular backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
  • Track, document, and resolve system outages, coordinating with stakeholders and corporate support teams for escalation when necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison between local IT teams and corporate support desks, ensuring seamless troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Analyze resource utilization, control user access, and enforce security protocols to safeguard enterprise environments.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and best practices.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance Undergo SSBI Tier 5 investigation) after date of hire is also required.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • At least three (3) or more years of experience supporting information technology, system administration, or related fields, with experience in both hardware and software management in unclassified environments.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA Security reqired.
  • Experience with enterprise tools such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS (Windows Server Update Services), Tenable.sc (Nessus/ACAS), Evaluate-STIG, McAfee security solutions, and imaging/maintenance platforms, with proficiency in some or a combination of these technologies.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, networking, and enterprise applications, etc.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities.
  • ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desired.
  • Certifications:
    • CCNA, a current Windows Operating System certification, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials is desired.
  • Prior experience with government or military correspondence and office operations is highly desired.
  • Experience in overseeing and maintaining network and server infrastructure, utilizing software, hardware, and automation to enhance operational efficiency is desired.
  • Systems Administration: Proficiency in administering Linux environments, ensuring security, stability, and performance is desired.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Expertise in providing Tier III support for network operations and end users, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues is desired.
  • Systems Imaging & Deployment: Knowledge of developing and deploying baseline images for Red Hat Enterprise Linux to standardize and streamline system implementations is desired.
  • Network Engineering & Implementation: Ability to design, deploy, and manage enterprise network and server infrastructure to meet organizational needs is desired.
  • Technology Innovation & Research: Strong analytical skills to assess emerging technologies and integrate solutions that improve network efficiency, security, and scalability is desired.
  • System Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Experience in conducting system monitoring, log analysis, and performance tuning to ensure maximum uptime and resource availability is desired.

 

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $30.02 - $34.52 per hour. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits (see more about our compensation package and benefits offered at Culture @ INDUS | INDUS Technology). The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
