Reporting to the Program Manager, the Network Infrastructure Expert supports a computing environment that operates on a 24/7 basis to meet the critical mission requirements of the customers Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) infrastructures (unclassified and classified up to and including Secret), as well as SIPRNET. This candidate designs, implements, and maintains networks, servers, voice/video systems, and related IT services to ensure a secure, resilient, and fully compliant environment. This is a contingent position expected to be located in Oxnard, CA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
What You'll Do
- Perform advanced installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, TACLANEs), server operating systems, and applications in accordance with DISA STIGs and other DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Manage voice and video collaboration services from the demarcation point to end-user devices, including planning and executing transitions from POTS to VoIP, programming new installations, and addressing directory listings and monthly line lease management.
- Provide oversight to personnel responsible for wiring, installing, and upgrading voice, video, and data cable infrastructure (fiber and copper) to support moves, adds, changes, and large-scale remodel projects.
- Oversee LAN/WAN architecture, designing and implementing new network infrastructure—including EKMS cryptographic devices—to ensure secure and efficient data transport for classified and unclassified environments.
- Execute Test Event support, including scheduling, setup, teardown, and technical guidance for telephony, video, and other conferencing services as required by internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, policies, and plans in alignment with DoD and customer directives, ensuring consistent adherence to the Command Change Management process.
- Provide expert consultation on network and telecommunications design strategies, system topology, and the application of DoD Information Assurance policies, with a focus on secure IP-based voice and video conferencing (VTC) environments.
- Act as a subject matter expert for firewall traversal, session protocols, encryption devices, and conference bridging applications, ensuring high availability and reliability for all voice/video services.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and five (5) years of experience in a related field demonstrating the ability to complete the required tasks.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 Infrastructure.
- At least five (5) years of experience in Firewall, IDS/IPS, CUCM, VoIP and Wi-Fi administration and configuration.
- At least five (5) years of experience securing a Cisco environment in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
- Proficient with gathering cable management requirements and execution of those requirements.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Travel Required ~10% travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and seven (7) years of experience in a related field demonstrating the ability to complete the required tasks.
- At least five (5) years of experience with scoping, architecture and design of new LAN/WAN network infrastructure including EKMS cryptographic devices and long-haul requirements.
