Reporting to the Program Manager, the Server OS / Data Center Expert supports a DoD-compliant data center environment by overseeing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and network and storage solutions. This candidate integrates, secures, and maintains enterprise systems, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards. This candidate designs, implements, and maintains networks, servers, voice/video systems, and related IT services to ensure a secure, resilient, and fully compliant environment. This is a contingent position expected to be located in Oxnard, CA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
What You'll Do
- Administer and maintain Windows Server 2019 platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
- Manage Microsoft services (WSUS, IIS, FTP, DNS, DFS, SCCM, SCOM), applying patches and optimizing configurations as needed.
- Configure and oversee DNS, MS Clustering services, SAN storage, Terminal Services, TCP/IP, and LDAP.
- Develop and apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in a domain environment to enforce security and configuration standards.
- Implement and manage PKI, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, and Office 365 services, supporting identity and access management.
- Secure and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, following best practices for system hardening.
- Utilize scripting (PowerShell, VB) and VMware virtualization to automate processes and streamline operations.
- Administer and support Linux/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, ensuring system performance, updates, and security compliance.
- Leverage working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server for basic database administration and performance monitoring.
- Manage Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 Infrastructure.
- Design, integrate, and deploy IT solutions in support of a Data Center environment.
- Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using virtual server hosting, backup solutions, off-site data replication and service level storage solutions.
- Provision Virtual Machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and 10 years of experience in a related field demonstrating the ability to complete the required tasks.
- At least 10 years of experience using Windows and/or Linux server technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy Management and PKI implementation.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting VMWare Infrastructure.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting SAN/Blade and Rack Server infrastructure.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting Information Security requirement implementations including the ability to ensure IAVA/M and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) compliance.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting Host Based Security System (HBSS) and Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) implementations including the configuration and monitoring of HBSS and/or ESS Fragmentary Orders (FRAGORD).
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting DoD and DoN Cybersecurity controls including the use of STIGs, SRRs, and ACAS implementation.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Travel Required ~10% travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and 10 years of experience in a related field demonstrating the ability to complete the required tasks.
- Proficient with fiber channel fabric/zoning/LUN management.Proficient with the Administration and deployment of NetApp and Rack Server architecture, or equivalent platform capabilities.Proficient with disaster recovery preparedness, execution and administration using policy-based backup applications.
