INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Technical Writer is responsible for drafting and updates to material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance for the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD) on the CVN / L-Class Support Services contract . This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA.
This is a full-time (40-hours per week), 2-month contract position with the potential for extension and / or conversion to a permanent full-time position based on funding and performance.
What You'll Do
- Determine the needs of users of each respective technical document.
- Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers.
- Work with technical staff to make instructions easier to use.
- Write or revise supporting content.
- Edit material prepared by other writers or staff.
- Standardize content across platforms and media.
- Collect user feedback to update and improve content.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
