POSITION SUMMARY:
The PowerCare Development Specialist is a strategic scout, focused on identifying, nurturing, and advancing PowerCare opportunities with end users of motive power equipment. This role is fundamental to IBP’s strategic growth strategy, and success will be measured by the quality and volume of qualified opportunities it produces.
This role is responsible for seeding relationships, generating interest, and delivering qualified opportunities to the appropriate internal closer (Branch Operations Manager or DC Power Professional).
This role operates within a specified region, laying the groundwork for a repeatable, regional growth model based on end-user development and PowerCare™ subscription growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Scouting & Opportunity Identification
Proactively survey the market to uncover potential PowerCare™ opportunities:
- Identify and pursue Dormant IBP accounts.
- Recapture accounts lost to competitors (battery houses or lift truck dealers).
- Secure new end-user accounts.
- Conduct account research to understand potential needs and strategic fit for PowerCare™ services (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or PC Platinum).
Engagement & Relationship Cultivation
Introduce IBP and PowerCare™ offerings to targeted accounts through:
- Phone outreach.
- Email campaigns.
- Face-to-face visits when appropriate.
- Serve as a trusted resource and first impression of IBP, capable of warming up cold leads with a calm, confident, and value-driven approach.
- Use consultative conversation to seed interest, ask insightful questions, and begin shaping opportunity narrative.
Strategic Opportunity Nurturing
- Build and maintain active engagement with potential customers over time.
- Track each interaction and opportunity stage in HubSpot CRM.
- Evaluate when an opportunity has matured enough to move into closing phase.
Transition to Closer (BOM or DCPP)
- Clearly and professionally transition qualified opportunities to the appropriate BOM or DCPP for closing.

Provide a detailed briefing to the closer, outlining:
- Account background.
- Identified needs.
- Engagement history.
- Proposed PowerCare direction.
- Continue to support communication as needed—but without assuming responsibility for closing the deal.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Background in Motive Power, Material Handling, and Inside Sales.
- Intermediate user in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills; able to build trust quickly.
- Organized, self-driven, and comfortable managing multiple touchpoints.
- Confident communicator via CRM, phone, email, and in-person.
