What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Tech position at Industrial Communications West?
Industrial Communications West is looking to add an experienced and licensed HVAC tech to our team in either Nebraska or Colorado. This tech performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems in company facilities and within cellular site shelters. Work includes installing new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. You'll also perform troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Establish preventive maintenance protocol
- Troubleshoot and repair systems
- Suggest system improvements and modifications
- Install equipment, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
- Recommend purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Maintain and secure a spare parts inventory.
Qualifications/Knowledge
- Minimum 2 years residential and 2 years commercial HVAC experience
- High school diploma/GED AND must be at least 21 years of age
- EPA 608 Universal certification
- Journeyman or Master Certification in HVAC
- Able to travel throughout work region, which can include overnight stays
- Ability to easily lift to 75 pounds and be able to carry and maneuver heavier items, either with help or appropriate devices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, compliance schematics, and work plans.
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills, including fixing defective/broken products and ordering replacement parts
- Demonstrates initiative, confidence, maturity, and good judgment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and able to pass a drug test
