Summary
We have an immediate opening at our Marshfield, MA headquarters for an experienced RF Technician whose duties would include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various two-way radio, microwave, and dispatch console systems.
Responsibilities
- Determine and apply the best methodology for installing radio systems, RF transmit and receive systems, and antennas
- Installation and repair of two-way radio subscribers, infrastructure, and supporting equipment
- Configuration and programming of two-way radio subscribers, preference for Motorola MOTOTRBO and Motorola APX
- · Configuration, programming, and installation of control stations, repeaters, and other supporting equipment
- Proficient in the use of RF testing equipment such (i.e., Spectrum analyzer)
- Proficient in the installation of subscriber radios into commercial and public safety vehicles
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues while maintaining minimal downtime
- Prepare, complete, and maintain appropriate job tickets, warranty forms and reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of dispatch console systems (i.e., AVTEC or Radio Pro)
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill Sets, Experience, etc.)
- Understanding basic electronics to the component level
- Proficient in the use of a communications analyzer, electrical circuit troubleshooting and operation of test equipment
- 3-7 years related experience with RF Theory, Radio, and/or Microwave communications equipment
- Knowledge of Fiber Optic technology and IP networking is a plus
- Experience with Motorola communication equipment and Public Safety markets is a plus
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights and on roof tops.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows OS is required
- Familiarity with subscriber programming software with preference for Motorola MOTOTRBO, APX, and ASTRO
CERTIFICATIONS
- CET certification and/or FCC license is a plus. Electronics/Applied Electronics background desired.
SCREENING
- Drug testing and background check is required
Note: Eligible for company vehicle after 90 days.
