We are currently hiring Concrete Laborers, Concrete Carpenters, and Concrete Finishers for work on Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station.
Work Schedule: 40–60 hours per week
Location: Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, NC
- Access Requirements: Candidates must qualify for a DBIDS ID badge (Felony convictions may disqualify applicants from obtaining base access).
Open Positions:
1. Concrete Carpenter
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and preparation of concrete forms
- Perform carpentry tasks related to concrete work
- Read and interpret blueprints for concrete projects
- Utilize power tools effectively and safely
- Support concrete pumping operations as needed
- Execute frame carpentry duties accurately
- Lay tiles in accordance with project requirements
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues
- Contribute to hardscape projects with precision and skill
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in concrete labor, concrete carpentry, or a related construction field
- Familiarity with general construction is a plus
- Proficiency in blueprint reading is a plus
- Ability to operate power tools efficiently
- Knowledge of frame carpentry techniques
- Experience in concrete laying is advantageous
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting tasks
- Understanding of OSHA principles
2. Concrete Laborer
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete
- Prepare construction sites by setting up forms, shoring, and scaffolding
- Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using various tools and techniques
- Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety protocols
- Operate hand and power tools required for concrete construction
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper storage and handling
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Concrete Laborer
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform strenuous tasks
3. Concrete Finisher
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and specialized finishing equipment
- Apply various finishing techniques, including broom, trowel, float, and stamped finishes
- Monitor and adjust the curing process to ensure durability and quality
- Cut expansion joints and install joint sealants
- Patch and repair surface imperfections as needed
- Work with various concrete mixes and admixtures to achieve project specifications
- Assist in setting forms and reinforcing steel placement as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety compliance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Concrete Finisher
- Proficiency in using finishing tools such as trowels, edgers, and floats
- Knowledge of curing techniques and finishing processes
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
