Position Summary:
The Grinder will use hand tools, pneumatic tools, or automated equipment to remove burrs and sharp edges, contour or shape welded corners and grind or blend cosmetic surfaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remove nibs, burrs, and sharp edges.
- Remove extraneous slugs.
- Blend nicks, dings, or marks on surfaces.
- Prepare the surface for paint, plate, etc.
- Shape and grind corners and radius to match.
- Cosmetically grain surfaces.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep the area clean and organized for maximum efficiency
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Lift more than 20 lbs. at times
- Willing to move around to other operations (flexibility)
Education/Certification:
- 5 or more years in the sheet metal industry setting up CNC Press Brakes and/or other sheet metal-related machines

While performing the duties of this job, the employees must stand at least 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle, and feel objects, control and manage tools with full body control, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear.
The employee will push and pull at least 50 pounds consistently, frequently lift and/or move from ground to table up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move from ground to table up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
