Warehouse Assistant

PREREQUISITES

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to lift 75 pounds.
• Successful completion of background, and drug screen.

JOB DUTIES

• General labor, assisting with warehouse movements, and cleaning.
• Handle all inbound freight.
• Help and support all outbound activity.
• Performing unpacking of shipment deliveries and documenting the activities into our computer system.
• Preparing shipping documents.
• Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move materials to proper departments or areas.
• Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Supports the shipment of received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Review and apply inventory activities such as stock movements.
• Report any stock issues and support all inventory functions.

EQUIPMENT USE

• Cleaning agents, ladders, hand tools, fork lift and computer.

WORK HOURS AND ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Monday Friday, 8:00 am 5:00 pm; overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This job is a combination Office/Shop/Warehouse environment.

• Follows directions, works independently, and takes initiative.
• Reliable (regular attendance and on time).
• Ability to complete tasks accurately and on a timely basis; proficient reading and writing skills.
