This position is a full-time role supporting a manufacturing facility in Carrollton, KY. IFM is a family-owned steel and construction service company. General Responsibilities
- Help foster a positive safety culture that encourages employee engagement, reporting, openness and continual improvement.
- Inspect and log safety items such as harnesses, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety, environmental and project rules.
- Proficiency in tasks such as climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, with a focus on maintaining balance and agility
- Monitor areas where confined space entry, hot work, or high-altitude tasks are conducted, maintaining constant awareness of potential hazards
- Conduct thorough inspections of work zones to detect any signs of flammable substances and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Effectively communicate with crew members and other personnel on-site to convey safety instructions and address concerns
- Assist in the completion of confined space permits and relevant paperwork, adhering to OSHA regulations and company standards
- Contribute to the development and implementation of field rescue plans, utilizing knowledge of rescue equipment and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents or hazardous conditions, promptly activating alarms and coordinating with emergency response teams when necessary
- Ability to perform assigned duties and navigate various work environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor settings
- Perform general labor activities, such as, but not limited to: garbage disposal and general housekeeping
- Equipment operation, to include: forklift, scissor lift, and trash truck
- Completion of training courses and certification in safety procedures
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Minimum Requirements
- Proficiency in tasks such as climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
- Flexibility to adapt to different work conditions and environments, demonstrating physical endurance and resilience
- Successful completion of drug testing and background checks
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
- Completion of training courses and certification in safety procedures
- Preferred experience as a fire watch and/or confined space attendant but training will be provided
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card upon hire.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
