Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee the implementation of security measures to protect network systems and infrastructure.
- Identify, define, and monitor the overall security requirements of the organization's network systems while staying compliant with standards like GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
- Configure, implement, and manage intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and other security infrastructure to safeguard network assets.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, patch management, and forensic investigations of security incidents, ensuring swift mitigation and response.
- Manage and deliver security awareness training programs, including phishing simulations, to promote a culture of cybersecurity among employees.
Qualifications
The ideal Network Security Engineer candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network security, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and conducting vulnerability assessments. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred, along with certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security . Proficiency in monitoring network traffic, responding to security incidents, and conducting forensic investigations is essential. Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects are key. Experience with security compliance standards and a commitment to accurate documentation are highly valued.
