They ensure accurate cost data, evaluate inventory performance via ERP systems, process returns, and address overstock. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to set and review pricing, gather cost data, and calculate profitability. Primary Responsibilities
- Manage Purchasing Operations: Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve purchasing objectives, process purchase orders for inventory replenishment, and maintain contract compliance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels, evaluate overstock and deadstock reports, and make necessary adjustments to optimize inventory performance.
- Pricing Oversight: Verify and maintain accurate pricing data, manage price changes and temporary reductions, and ensure price competitiveness while maximizing profitability.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Review business intelligence and margin reports weekly, analyze results, and communicate findings to sales and management teams for actionable insights.
- Vendor and Customer Relations: Process vendor returns, handle customer service needs, and exercise judgment, initiative, and tact when addressing internal and external stakeholders.
- ERP and Documentation Management: Utilize ERP systems and related software to manage inventory, pricing, and reporting tasks while organizing and maintaining spreadsheets and other documentation efficiently.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Purchasing and Pricing Coordinator role is a reliable self-starter with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset. They should be an effective problem solver and communicator, with 1 to 2 years of purchasing and pricing experience, a high school diploma or GED (a certificate in purchasing is preferred), and strong Excel proficiency. A solid understanding of inventory analytics, experience with overseas shipments or brokers, and the ability to manage data entry and analyze information with precision are critical.
