What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Technician - Controls position at Industrial Flow Solutions?
***This is a temp to hire position at our New Haven, CT, facility. ***
As an Assembly Technician on the Control Panel building team, you will perform a variety of technical job functions in order to assemble new and returned electrical control panels. This includes identifying and pulling parts, assembling control panels, and prepping product for shipment.
Here are some of the daily job responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical and electrical elements of a control panel and/or oil minder including but not limited to floats, probes, heater elements, circuitry, voltage wiring, enclosures, PLCs, VFDs, and similar components.
- Utilize assembly tools such as electrical meters, wrenches, torques, screwdrivers, electric drill, hacksaw, saw saw and similar tools.
- Inspect electrical wiring and controls using precision electrical instrumentation including volt-ohm meters and other electrical instrumentation.
- Interpret manuals, electrical wiring schematics and similar documentation, translating them into proper assembly procedures and methods.
- Assist with testing performance of completed panels or oil minder product to quality standards.
- Give feedback to the production manager for planning of production schedule.
- Provide technical information to Sales, Engineering and Quality on the performance of the product and potential areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Preference is a technical school degree in a mechanical, electrical or similar discipline.
- Three to five years experience in a technical manufacturing or similar environment.
- Proficient in mechanical, electrical equipment and manufacturing assembly, including interpreting electrical schematic and understanding electrical components.
- AC/DC wiring experience a plus.
- Manufacturing assembly experience utilizing hand tools
- Ability to read blueprints
