JOB SUMMARY
Industrial Inspection & Analysis is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our ISO 17025-accredited calibration laboratory specializing in pyrometry and precision calibration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards, maintaining quality control processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ISO 17025 Compliance: Ensure all calibration activities adhere to ISO 17025 standards and laboratory accreditation requirements.
- Pyrometry Expertise: Oversee and verify temperature uniformity surveys (TUS), system accuracy tests (SAT), and instrument calibration in accordance with AMS2750 and related pyrometry standards.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, including document control, internal audits, and corrective actions to drive continual improvement.
- Calibration Process Oversight: Monitor calibration processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement results.
- Customer Support & Reporting: Work with customers to ensure their calibration requirements are met, prepare certification reports, and address quality-related inquiries.
- Internal Audits & Nonconformance Management: Conduct internal audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions to maintain lab integrity.
- Training & Development: Support training programs for lab personnel on calibration procedures, pyrometry, and quality system compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency and measurement accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMNTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a calibration laboratory or quality engineering role, preferably in an ISO 17025-accredited environment.
- Strong understanding of pyrometry principles, including AMS2750, Nadcap, and aerospace/heat treatment industry standards.
- Experience with measurement uncertainty analysis, metrology principles, and calibration methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), risk assessment, and root cause analysis tools (e.g.,FMEA, 8D, CAPA).
- Proficiency in calibration software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Nadcap accreditation processes.
- Certification in ISO 17025 auditing or quality management systems.
- Hands-on experience with temperature sensors, furnaces, and high-temperature measurement equipment.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
