We are looking for a Generalist who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that define ILMSenior Generalists create photo-real, seamlessly-integrated environments and landscapes.
They have a vast knowledge of multiple workflows and can turn around beautiful work quickly to help the VFX Supe and client shape the vision of shots.What You’ll DoQuickly create high quality computer graphics within a timeline and with minimal supervision
Create lighting setups with complex shaders that look convincing and render efficiently
Source suitable reference materials for required assets
Participate as a team member by
providing feedback to other members of the show and by attending dailies on a regular basis
Interpret feedback to respond to review notes with little Supervisor direction
Mentor Apprentice and Junior Artists and assist them with their shots
Help develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists
May be called upon to act as a Lead on a sequence of shots and create the look that the rest of the team follows
What We’re Looking ForDegree OR 5 years relevant experience (professional OR amateur)
Proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting or compositing
Excellent communication and team oriented thinking
Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software
Fluent in some or all of these software packages : Houdini,
3dsmax, Photoshop, Maya and a ray trace renderer.
Comparable software experience considered
Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Multiscatter, Speedtree, etc
JoinILMThe hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $132,300 to $169,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
Salary : $132,300 - $169,300
